Bringing Geometry to Life in Downtown New Orleans
In 2024, Denali Art Solutions had the privilege of fabricating and installing Poydras Corridor Polyhedra, a striking new public sculpture by artist Matt Scobey. Commissioned for New Orleans’ vibrant Poydras Corridor and funded by The Helis Foundation, this large-scale artwork transforms geometric abstraction into a bold, physical presence in the heart of the Crescent City.
From early-stage renderings to final placement, our team helped bring Matt’s vision to life, ensuring the sculpture met both aesthetic expectations and the structural demands of a busy urban environment.

Our Role
This was more than just a build.
Our team worked in close collaboration with Matt and the engineering team to take the concept from technical drawings to tangible form.
Scope of Work:
-
Renderings & Fabrication Planning: Translated engineering drawings into detailed, actionable fabrication plans.
-
Material Strategy: Calculated exact quantities, cuts, and dimensions to meet both artistic and structural specifications.
-
Custom Fabrication: Built the full sculpture in-house to exacting standards, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering codes.
-
Transport Solutions: Designed a safe, secure transport plan for this large yet delicate piece.
-
Site Installation: Installed the sculpture on-site in downtown New Orleans with care, precision, and rigging expertise.

The Outcome
The result? A sculptural landmark that now lives in dialogue with the New Orleans skyline. And it was made possible by careful planning, high-quality craftsmanship, and seamless execution.
This project is a great example of what we mean when we say we handle everything: design translation, fabrication, transport, and installation.
